I have found another nanny job. I start my 3rd week tomorrow. I only work like 27.5 hours, but it has a decent wage so we about break even. I might be able to pick up more hours, but I will find that out this week. I don't have to get up early, but I do have to stay late on Tuesdays, but overall I am pretty happy with this job. Sorry this isn't longer, I have housework to do.

That is not okay. So I called the school police, who had me call the City police, who had me call some other lady, who had me call the City Marshall. I asked her (like I had everyone before) if it was okay to have political signs b/w the road and sidewalk in front of schools and she said "No, that is illegal." I told her what street they were on and she said she would send a Marshall to remove them. :D

Bridal Shower: Take 1

So I had my first bridal shower the weekend before last (Sept 6th). My mom, sister, and I all flew up to Michigan to have a shower given by my mom's family. It was a lot of fun!

This will be pic heavy, but I know you guys love that!

My wedding is on the beach, so my aunt decorated her house beachy.

Some of the prizes (the star fish candles):

We played two games. The first one I had to hide and people had to remember EVERYTHING I was wearing. My mom won(She is the right most person in the first pic). The second game we were given a bunch of common recipes (chili, apple pie, etc) with two missing ingredients. We had all the missing ingredients on a list and we had to place all the missing ingredients back with the correct recipes. My cousin Jonah's wife Jessie won that one (the baby Faith,is theirs)

You can see one of the other prizes, a candle holder with shells and mosaic tiles (my mom had already won it so she put her recipie list in it)

My cousin Teresa explaining the first game

My mom holding faith, with her sister (my godmother) looking over.

The one holding the baby IS not Jessie ;0 that is my cousin Kelsea who is 16.

The next thing we did was not technically a game, but I did pick winners. Everyone wrote down their best advice for marriage, and the best worst advice they had ever heard. That was hilarious! My cousin Teresa gave me the best best advice and my mom gave me the best worst advice, but since she had already won we ceded the prize to my grandmother (Who's advice was so hilarious and mortifying I cannot not tell you guys "Never say no, just lay back and enjoy" as good advice - the hilarity was compounded by the fact I read no as sex first. I read it out loud and everyone cracked up)
I read all the advice, saving the winning advice for each side for last. I had many bad advices that said "Never go to sleep mad", but one that used that as good advice. I thought that was interesting.

The gifts (And yes that IS hello kitty on the left) + more prizes (The brown boxes have seashell shaped candles):

Opening the gifts:

Food!:

Cake!

Me and cake!

After we ate I handed out the hostess gifts. Two scented anti-bacterial hand gels from Bath and Body Works, a pink nail file from Bath and Body Works, one tan and one green (our wedding colors) candle, a bag of pecans (we live in south georgia), a peach shaped chocolate, and peach cookies.

The guests (Every female on that side of the family: from grandmother down to great grand babies):

x-posted to 2008_weddings
Surgery went well. I won't post pics b/c they are really gross. ><; It only hurts when I touch them, so cleaning time is pretty owwie. Once they are healed up I will probably post some pictures, but mayhap not until the stitches are out.

I just read Kushiel's Scion and Kushiel's Justice (which is why I feel like using mayhap in casual conversation). I want to read Kushiel's Mercy to finish up the trilogy, but it is only out in hardcover and I own the rest of the series in paperback so I do not want to buy just the one in hardcover. I am hoping to be able to rent it or borrow it from someone.

I get to try on my wedding dress again this weekend! Then we will order the bridesmaid dresses and maybe pick out their shoes.

-is a really fun game. William and I have been playing (It's only one player, but there is a lot of planning involved so he mans the controls and I watch and supply ideas) It is totally cute and a lot of fun. Anyone with a wii should consider downloading his 1500 point game ($15). You can also buy more content, races, outfits, dungeons. I think if you buy all of it the total for FFCCMLK and extra content costs $31.

Working 40 hours a week as a graduated person feels similar to last summer's 40. However now I have a pretty diploma in a neato tube thing. I really need to get a frame, but it's so freaking huge I will have to look around. Well I just thought I should update. And Nintendo...if you are reading this...please release Dr. Mario Online RX so I can give my mom her birthday present already! She has been waiting on this game since the Wii came out!

My friend Ashley put it eloquently "I have 364 others days of the year to be depressed about being single"

I know it is a commercial holiday, of course it is! What holiday isn't?!?! Enjoy Valentines day for love and if not love for discount chocolate the day after.

I remember reading this version of the story and always liking this explanation:

"Valentine [was]a priest who refused an unattested law attributed to Roman Emperor Claudius II, allegedly ordering that young men remain single. The Emperor supposedly did this to grow his army, believing that married men did not make for good soldiers. The priest Valentine, however, secretly performed marriage ceremonies for young men. When Claudius found out about this, he had Valentine arrested and thrown in jail. In an embellishment to The Golden Legend, on the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he wrote the first "valentine" himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved, as the jailer's daughter whom he had befriended and healed, or both. It was a note that read "From your Valentine."

In another apparently modern embellishment, while Valentine was imprisoned, people would leave him little notes, folded up and hidden in cracks in the rocks around his cell. He would find them and offer prayers for them." From wikipedia

I also remember they would bring him flower petals and chocolates to keep his spirits up.

Either way try to think Valentines day as a good day, or at least not a bad one.

Working on planning the honeymoon some this week. Next week we will actually be able to book flights b/c the honeymoon will be less than 330 days away! William found the most awesome website where we can book a ryokan that monkeys actually share the hot springs at!

We went to the travel agent yesterday, but it seems their fees add 500 to our flight and 50 a night to our hotel bills so we are probably going to just do it ourselves now. I am so excited to go to Japan. I want to start cramming all the Japanese I can in my head as soon as possible, but I do not graduate college till May so that has to wait. This semester has just started and I already wish it was over. Granted with no Latin it is a lot less stressful. I have already had one test (88 in Theater) and one proposal due(also theater). I have a paper due next week which I plan to work on over the weekend, it is just writing a paper from notes so no worries there. I need to beat MySims, and play more Sims 2 Vacations, and plan more wedding stuff. So far this is what I have done for the wedding for those of you who may be interested:

Sometime after the engagement in April 08, 2005
Picked the wedding party
18 mos.
Booked the Photographer (http://www.lanceoliverphotography.com/index.htm) With a much better package then what is up now.
Booked the Reception at the Officer's Club on Tyndall Air Force Base, FL
Picked out who we will buy the cake from - told to order later
Bought the rings
12 mos.
Ordered the flowers (http://home.proflowers.com/wedding/)
Bought the Dress
Picked out the Bridesmaid Dresses
Looked into Favors
Looked into Officiants
Tried out a hairstyle for the wedding - I might just have Carolyn do it, it is really simple
Booked the Rehearsal dinner (as of last night apparently ^^ go William's mom)
Looked into Honeymoon arrangements - Tokyo Japan

Considering I have a year left I think I am doing pretty well. Any ideas, suggestions?

Dec 20th is all I have to say now to explain when I am getting married. ^^ I have most of it planned out, reserved, or both. School starts for us soon, my last semester before graduating in May. I cannot wait to be done with school.

After the wedding we will move to Atlanta so he can finish school and then we can move somewhere and maybe buy a house. The impending marriage of course also means the impending pressure of the babies. ><; Since I am the oldest and William's brother does not have children I fear the pressure will be strong once we tie the knot.

I am not really sure how I feel about having kids. I like them of course, but I do not know how much I really want to "own" one. If we do, we both decided they would be put off until we both are in our careers and can afford to put them into private school and any other activities we might want them to do. I don't however feel a biological need to procreate for some reason of species sustainment or legacy.

I also know if we have kids, later on, I would expect alot, out of myself and them. I am constantly thinking of things I would "do differently" with my siblings so I hope that I am as good as I think I can be as a parent, if I become one.

I know you do not need kids to be happy. I am sure lots of people are or would be without them. The clincher is that I know life changes when you have them, and the only way to ever have that change is to have kids. So, do I want that, do we?
